Memorials & Landmarks

Steeped in history dating back to the 12th century, Royston is proud of its rich heritage, which includes: the Augustinian Priory, of which the Parish Church of St John the Baptist contains the only surviving fragments; the medieval Royston Cave, whose purpose has been puzzling historians and visitors since its rediscovery in 1742; and the Roysia Stone.
